Detailing my love for the Missionary Training Center and the People in It

 Thursday, June 12, 2008, 10:23pm, Day 2

I only have 7 minutes to write.

Wow-o-wow-o-wow.

I feel wonderful. The MTC is a great place. Sorry I got cut short on time and you can understand why.

I love it here. I feel the spirit.

I grew so fast. I was nervous this morning because I am in the advance group of Spanish speakers and I don’t feel so advanced. But my companion is a great help in understanding principles and making me feel god.

Two other Elders:

Elder Hunsaker de Provo, Utah y

Elder Lee de Korea del Sur.

Two teachers.

Hermano Rojas y Hermano Olsen.

They are awesome teachers. Like I said, I was intimidated this morning but I was great at lunch time. For many reasons.

Kandace Kaiser somehow sent me a letter.

Awesome large group meeting. I played Hark All Ye Nations and we were stopped three times. First because we didn’t sing with the spirit of the song. I felt this yesterday.

…I was given permission to write.

When we sang that song and Called to Serve, no power was given. But the Brother explained to us the hymns of Zion and surprisingly stopped us 3 times to explain everything that we needed to know. In that meeting we watched a movie called “The District” and in it we saw real elders and sisters teaching real people with their experience. It was overwhelmingly insightful and full of the spirit.

I love it here. I am constantly being remined that I am here for the right purpose. To help other come to Christ. I can’t believe what only two days has done to change me and my outlook on life.

I also played the piano in an orientation meeting for health that we  had. We sang Called to Serve en español. It was definitely full of the spirit.

We have 11 members en nuestra clase. 4 sisters and 3 pairs of elders. Elder Hunsaker, yo, Elder Lee, Elder Delgado, Elder Covarrubias (District Leader).

Oh yeah, and the Zone leaders are great people. Elder Myers has a profound testimony of the gospel and I feel the spirit each time I talk to him. Elder Christensen has a youthful spirit about him and he is great in that way.

I’m writing as fast as I can because I don’t wan to waste my sleeping time.

4 sisters:

Hermana Allred

Hermana Quintana

Hermana Wilcox

Hermana Leininger

They asked us to write letters yesterday to our family, mainly mom.. I hope I wrote everything she wanted to read. I have so much more to tell her but I have to wait hasta martes (Tuesday). Tuesday es mi día de preparación, P-day, when I go to the temple.

It has just been an awesome special day. It hasn’t  been hard. The beginning things we did in Spanish were nervewrecking but I am getting use to it. I am making progress in Spanish and in just one day.

My thoughts are where they should be. I have probably only thought about Blair twice sinceI’ve been here (once for each day). That doesn’t mean I won’t write her but it means that my mind is set right now to do the right things. I love it.

¿Qué más?

It’s a good fun time and my time here at the MTC which is only 3 weeks!!! (because I’m in the advanced Spanish class). It’s going to be good. I didn’t feel tired. That surprised me. The spirit is blessing me.
