In Which I Wonder Why My Parents Make Tough Choices

There are times where I do not agree with the decisions parents make regarding their children. That is the problem with being the oldest. Since you were first, parents make decisions based off of your mistakes. There is so much pressure, it’s a miracle that some first borns do not cave in and just become “emo” or something.
My parents (mostly my dad, I’m sure) has based a decision on something from my past. They will not let Sarah go to Sea World to spend the night on a sixth grade field trip.
Thing is, I went to Sea World for my sixth grade field trip and spent the night. Everything went alright until I hurt myself sleeping. I think, when my parents remember the incident, my hand must have had a big gash that needed to be stitched; when in actuality I scraped my hand when I fell, nothing serious, and someone immediately came to my aid. The rest of the experience was good. I had a great time.
My parents (dad again) won’t let go of the fact that I hurt myself and now Sarah will probably hate me for a year. I’m going to try to talk to dad about it.
Also, I hate how they condemn something we like to do without even trying it themselves. For example, well, the biggest example: Dad is totally against LOST. I think it is because he has a misperception about the content of the show.
