First time joining the Marshalltown Ward, the Johnson's, and other small stuff.

Tomorrow is P-day. Today was long and I really needed some rest.
We went to church at 8am for correlation and at 9am church started. The ward is terribly small. We split up for relief society and priesthood and I counted 19 members in RS and 14 members in Melchizedek Priesthood class in the 3rd hour. I bore my testimony of the brotherly kindness that people have in Marshalltown. I invited and challenged them to take courage to open their mouths twice today. Let's see if any good will come of it. I did have an idea of members inviting a less active family and getting the ward to grow. I don't know; this ward has a lot of potential to increase if they would make themselves known in the town.
We went to a member's house for lunch today - the Johnson's, parents of Tyler Johnson - who taught with us yesterday at Maria's and who has a brother that is going to Argentina. They have a daughter named Holly who is cute that may still be in high school or older; but I tried not to focus on that.
I shared 1 Samuel 16:7 "But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." <3
After that (oh yeah, they lived in a rural part of Marshalltown, first time I'd been out there). We went to _______ who is a member but curses a lot, and is intimidating but really easy to get along with if you are on his side.
- left, bumped into African Americans drinking/smoking on porch, tow were battling against one who had lots of Bibles.
- talked to some mexicans.
- some kids/adults that had lots of questions about snakes, evolutions, etc.
- Maria Guadalupe, lady who is from Mexico who cooked for us without knowing it, seems like a great investigator
